Chapter P Update
On August 23rd, the meeting was hosted by Bruce and Sandy Lumpkin at the Dew Drop Inn in McClelland. We had 4 members present. Many absences due to attendance at Iowa Fun Fest, Donia Days, and other local events.
On September 7th, the meeting hosted by Jay and Susan Perkins was held at the Viking Lake Restaurant. We had 16 members and 1 guest present. After breakfast and chapter meeting, Jay and Susan led us on a colorful ride around SW Iowa. .

Chuck Wyant attended and reported many vendors, many new people to meet and had large crowd-despite other events reporting lower attendances.
Chuck Wyant helped with registration, Mike and Mary Krueger helped with Fun Run stop.
Meeting place will be former Pamida parking lot in Oakland
Chapter dues are required to remain in GWTA

Deb and Jo expressed their thank you to group for support during the loss of their loved one
Requirements and responsibilities were discussed. Potential nominees are to review their ability to fulfill and bring decision to next meeting.
Many chapters are seeing declining roster-trend of free memberships offered last year are the ones not being renewed. Other trends include work-family responsibilities deter participation
Group is determining location for group vacation
Reminded group to review and keep basic skills in mind. Watch road debris/construction/animals. Watch for curbs, pavement changes, and intersections ( 180 degree sweeps)
Jo and Bryan strongly recommended 3 Flags Ride in So. California.
Request for nomination of new Chapter director. Group requested list of responsibilities and expectations of Director. Concerns expressed regarding personal time required to fulfill the duties of the Chapter Director.
Discussed past events or contests, ride nights, and what to try to generate most interest
Informational. Chuck encouraged the members to attend next year.
We have found some great food
and roads- join us!
Dues will be paid.
Chapter P members who have CB radios use Channel 22.
Memorials were given to Library in Deb’s mother’s hometown. Memorial service will be in Malvern, on September 21 at 2PM at the Baptist Church.

Signature ride of 76 miles from Hamburg to Rock Port to Auburn to Nebraska City and back to Hamburg. If you like hills, it has your hills.
The other ride will be 36 miles fairly flat miles. Entry: $24 with shirt, $19 no shirt. Breakfast: Hamburg Rescue Squad will be serving pancakes, eggs, sausage and juice/coffee. $4.50 adults and $3 children.
Ride Starts at Fire Station on Main Street in Hamburg, IA Register between 7 & 9 AM. Start anytime between 8 & 9 AM.
