Wow, what a great time we had at this year’s Gold Rush.
If you missed it I feel sorry for you. Illinois showed up in force in costume as pirates from international waters. They even held members hostage to buy buttons to raise over $1,000.00 for Helping Hands. Nebraska, true to form was there all dressed in red to let everyone else know that they all have Big Red Pride. Iowa made a presence also with their corn fed hats and yellow galoshes. We had Several members there from Wisconsin and also a good showing from South Dakota. Why did they all come? They have seen for themselves just how much fun our National Gold Rush can be and to see once again the friends they have made over the years.
Next year’s Gold Rush will be in Tan Tara Resort at Osage Beach MO. That is less than 400 miles away for many of us. This will be a great opportunity for all of us to go and show the rest of GWTA just how great Region C is. There is a Registration Flier attached to this below for all of our members use and the price of registration is only $25.00 per member. Yes that is right, only $25.00 for our 25th birthday party. We have a year to plan for this and I think it would be great for all of our chapters to plan to take this to their chapter meeting and to plan to attend as a chapter. I can tell you from experience this type of trip will do a lot for a chapter as far as making friendships grow even stronger.
It was brought up at the Region C meeting at this year’s Gold Rush from several members that thought it a great idea to have Region C show up and to really go all out to let everyone know just how great Region C GWTA is. We are looking in to having Region C shirts made up to commemorate next year’s Gold Rush. It was voted on and they will be a safety neon green shirt. Right now I am thinking that on one sleeve we will have the Region C logo embroidered on it , On the other the GWTA two Bike logo on it, on one breast will be your Chapter and State and on the other your name. I need all of your feedback on this.
Congratulations go to JR and Karen Green from Ch. L, IA. For being selected this year’s National Family of the Year. Did you know that our National Family of the Year has been selected from Region C for the last 3 years in a row. As a matter of fact at this year’s Gold Rush we had 5 Region C National Family of the Year couples. JR and Karen Green, Bob and Pam Beverage, Jack and Joyce May, Eldon and Carol Orgolzolga, and Dan and Joyce Dolan. Region C has had more national Families of the Year than any other Region and that is because Region C has the best people in the Nation.
Do you need better reasons to belong to GWTA? We have fun, we have rides, we have food, we have friends, we have ice cream and most importantly Region C is the best region within GWTA. If you have a friend that is not a part of our great Region we have a unique opportunity going on until September first for them to belong for only $50.00 per year.. If your chapter has people tagging along without being a member of GWTA (they are not a member of your chapter if they are not a member of GWTA) this is a great opportunity for them and their family to become members for only $50.00 per year. You only have one more month to get your friends in on this fantastic deal so make sure you let everyone you know about this opportunity.

Subj: Camping at Region C
I have had a couple of questions regarding camping at Marion, IL for Region C this year. Those that are planning to camp do need to take care of their own camping. The phone # is on the flier as well as the prices. There is also a spot on the flier to check if you are camping. This is only for our own records. When we are setting up our Region C Rallies we are always asked as to how many are camping and how many will be using a motel. We need these numbers so that we can get the best price for our members for camping and motels.
