Region C Directors E-Mails
The Region C website is available for EVERYONE
If you have not already done so, please create an account by following the steps below _*and*_ encourage the Chapter Directors to do the same. This is the best way to make sure the state and chapter information is current, i.e. chapter director, meeting time, place, and event dates. It really is very easy to do.
Next encourage all of the members to subscribe to the weekly electronic
newsletter. The webmaster has a program that pulls information from the
website, compiles it into a newsletter, and sends it each week via e-mail.
Each chapter has the opportunity to post on the web page and contribute to
this newsletter. Mine is in the inbox every Monday morning without fail.

Region C Recruiting program
As most of you know by now we have been steadily loosing members for the last several months. GWTA has so much to offer the members in our chapters. I am very proud to say that I represent all of our members in Region C and the individuality of our chapters. I would love to see our Region grow by 100 members in the next six months from the first of Sept. 2009. I can not do this alone. You’re Region and your GWTA needs your help.
Starting on September 1, 2009 till March 1, 2010 Region C will be promoting a special recruiting push. The State or Province in Region C that recruits the most members in that 6 month period will be eligible for a $500.00 cash prize. Now here is the kicker. In order to win that prize you must keep those new members and they must renew a year later, so the prize will not be awarded until March 30, 2011.
Do you know the best and the easiest way to recruit new members? You have to have fun in your own chapter and you have to invite others to join in the fun. Good luck to all the Region C members and may the best State or Province win.
Campaign 31
Effective immediately, members can sign up three (3) “new” memberships and get one FREE year added to their membership. Life Members have the option to give away the one free year. This membership program is called Campaign 31 and will run until further notice.
Hand of Friendship Program
Effective immediately! If you know someone who belongs to another motorcycle club and they are interested in joining GWTA, you can offer them the following incentive: If the prospective member shows proof of belonging to another organization including the amount they paid for the membership and the amount of time left on the membership, GWTA will put half of the value of what is left on their current membership with the other organization toward a 3 year GWTA membership.
2010 Raffle Tickets
2010 raffle tickets are in circulation. Tickets are being sent this month to all of our States. Region C has always done a very good job of supporting our organization with these sales. You should have them at your chapter level shortly. Region C is counting on all of our members to help sell these and keep our Region number 1
Tickets are a $1 donation each and the Grand Prize is the winner’s choice of $10,000 CASH (U.S. Funds) or 2010 Harley XR 1200 Sportster (Orange or Black) or 2010 Honda NT700V

There will be a scrapbook compitition this year at Gold Rush. This is open to Chapters, States and Region. I would love to be able to have a Region C Scrapbook entered into compitition, do we have anyone that might be interested in doing this for our our Region? This is also a wonderful opportunity to show off your chapters and your state.

To address the issue of can GWTA dip into chapter treasuries?
AND MORE
Wow, I can’t tell you how happy I am to hear of those types of questions and responses’. Our members really are concerned and do care and this proves it. To address the issue of can GWTA dip into chapter treasuries? Absolutely not. This is your chapters money and in no way is tied in with anything National can do. GWRRA can and has taken money from chapters because in order to start a GWRRA Chapter they must be put on the account. GWTA is not on our account and never will be.
Your chapter is absolutely correct in not wanting to bail out GWTA when they run into problems. This has been an ongoing thing with declining memberships. I cannot offer any clear cut ideas on how we are going to solve this problem, but I can tell you that the National Staff is and will look at everything we can to cut expenses and to make sure we are a viable organization for years to come. We have looked at items such as how we can make the Touring News more cost effective, how we can make each members membership dues count for every penny they pay. I will not try to fool you or anyone else in that the cuts will effect only our national organization. Touring News could very well be cut back in some form for a while to make sure we are not over extending ourselves again and there might be some other member benefits that we will need to cut back on I also know that we have a few Board members that are taking this very seriously and are looking into what the Board can do to once again make us a strong organization. Bottom line is when we come through this we will be a better and stronger.
The pledge form can be used if they want to make a donation, if they want to buy Raffle Tickets and if they want to buy merchandise.
Region C alone in three days have raised $1500 and not all the chapters have met at this time to discuss how they will help.. I am very confident we will reach our goal. I know the pledges will play a big Part in this and I truly understand our members concerns about wanting to make sure we are doing some good and not throwing their money out the window. It is very important if they wish to make a pledge that they get those to me so that I can count them in the tally.
Even if GWTA does not survive we will have to go through with the bike raffle. We have already started and someone would go to jail if we did not pick a winner. We had to get an Gaming license to sell raffle tickets and the government would be looking for someone if we forfeited on this.
Please feel free to share this letter with your members if you wish. I feel at this time it is extremely important that our members are as well informed as they can be.

Subject: Update
We have raised close to two thousand dollars in Region C in Raffle tickets, Donations and pledges. We have less than 10 days to raise at least another $3000.00.
I know we can do it! I have heard so many positive comments as well as shock over the condition of our organization. Our members do care about their GWTA and want to see us survive. Remember it is up to all of us to make the difference. Please continue to encourage our members to get involved and to help where they can. Please remind them to send their pledge forms to me and to get your Raffle tickets returned to me weekly so that we can get that money into National. I have received tickets so far from WI. And NE.
