IOWA G W T A DESTINATION FRIENDSHIP

Chapter Director's please poll your members on what they would like to see at Fun Fest – Iowa Extravaganza this year. I want to totally change the format and do some different things and I would really like to know the thoughts of the members. After all it is about what they want and would like to do. One thing I was thinking of is a light parade starting from a nursing home and ending up at Dairy Queen. I was asked by my insurance agent about allowing venders to set up. He said he sets up at Pheasants' Forever and he could probably find agents in that area that would be willing to sent up. We could charge them a small fee to set up their table. And I was thinking that the members might have ideas of other venders that would be willing to set up also. So let's brain storm and see what we can come up with. I think that would help to keep down the costs to attend. And also what are your thoughts on a meal on Saturday night do we want to have it catered in or do we want to find a place where we can go as a group and eat. Please send me any ideas you have.
Thanks Don Thomason S.D.

June 12 & 13th is our Region C Rally in Chippewa Falls, Wi. This is growing in numbers by the minute. I heard we have 220 or more registered so far. This is known as a Family Reunion . So if you haven't made plans to attend you might want to so you don't miss out on all of the fun.
Then the following weekend is out First ever Iowa GWTA picnic in Ottumwa, Iowa at the Octagon Shelter at the intersection of Hwy 34 & 63. There is a campground across the hwy from the shelter. It is a city campground and fee is $15.00 for RV's and $10.00 for others. It is a first come first serve basis. If it is raining we will have to reschedule this event.
The following weekend June 28th is Chapter P's Fun Run Intersection of Hwy 92 & Cypress Ave, Council Bluffs, IA Meal provided by Lewis Township Fire Dept. First Bike out at 9AM Last Bike out 11AM. Awards at 1:30PM contact Chuck Wyant at 712-256-7207.
July is pretty quiet at this point except for Gold Rush starting Sunday July 12th with a welcome dinner and running through July 16th. This is going to be a great event to attend so get registered and show them that Iowa Rocks. The drawing will be held on the 16th at closing ceremonies so come see if you are the winner or someone you sold a ticket too.
August starts out with Chapter J's Fun Run. First bike out at 9am it is going to be held at the Clarinda City Park. This is always a great time. Contact Jay Lininger 712-303-0524.
Then August 14-15 is Iowa Fun Fest in Storm Lake, Iowa. We have several registrations in so far. Please get your registration in early for this great event. Send your registrations to Dennis Irvin 100 SE Diehl Des Moines, Iowa 50315. We are still in need of auction and door prizes items. Please let me know what you have so we can make a list of items & finalize plans. Barry & Phyllis have made up the route for our ride. The starting point is Storm Lake Honda where Larry will have breakfast for us. If you see something you just can't live without remember Larry and his son will be gone for Larry's daughter's wedding. So make plans to contact him later to make your best deal.
Raffle tickets we need to sell all the tickets we have left before Gold Rush so please sell, sell, sell. Please turn them in to Dennis in a timely manner.
